What we collect
When you use PowerMap we collect the information you give us directly: your email address (used for authentication), the messages you send in conversations, the names and roles of people you mention, and the optional profile information you provide (job title, industry, seniority, and similar context). We also collect standard server logs (IP address, browser type, timestamps) for security and debugging purposes.
How AI processing works
PowerMap uses large language models to generate advice. Before any conversation is sent to an AI model, the names of people you have mentioned are replaced with anonymous tokens (for example, a colleague named "Sarah" becomes "[Person-01]"). The AI provider never receives the real names — only these opaque placeholders.
Conversations are processed by the following AI sub-processors:
- Google Gemini (Google LLC) — primary AI provider
- OpenAI (OpenAI, LLC) — secondary AI provider
Both providers are used under their standard API Data Processing Agreements. Neither provider uses your conversations to train their models under standard API terms. Your pseudonymized conversation content is transmitted to these providers only to generate a response and is not retained by them beyond their standard transient processing window.
How your data is stored
Your data is stored in a Supabase Postgres database. Row-level security policies ensure that each user can only access their own data — no other user or system can query your records.
The names of people you mention are encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM authenticated encryption before being written to the database. A database breach would not expose real colleague names in readable form.
Data retention
Chat messages are retained for 90 days by default. You can change your retention preference at any time in Settings. Reducing the window will cause older messages to be purged on the next scheduled cleanup. People records, situation history, and profile information are retained until you delete them or delete your account data.
Your rights
You can delete all of your data at any time. Open the app, go to Settings, and tap "Delete all my data." This permanently removes your conversations, people records, situation history, traits, and profile information. Your login account is not deleted — you can sign in again and start fresh, or contact us to delete the account itself.
If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have rights under GDPR including the right to access, rectify, erase, and port your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact us at the address below.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your data to third parties.
- We do not use your conversations to train our own models.
- We do not share your data with anyone other than the AI sub-processors described above.
